AOsept Lens Storage Case with Catalyst Disc for use with hydrogen peroxide solutions. The hydrogen peroxide solution is a type of contact lens solution that uses hydrogen peroxide to clean and disinfect contact lenses. Unlike multipurpose solutions, which can be used directly on lenses, hydrogen peroxide solutions require a special case that comes with the solution when you buy it.
The Solution must be stabilized before the contact lenses are placed into the individual’s eyes to prevent this damage. To stabilize the solution, the contact lenses are placed into the special container with the platinum-coated disk. The disc removes the hydrogen peroxide in the solution and produces small bubbles that help clean the lenses. After six (6) hours, the solution is stabilized, and what is left is a saline solution. At this point, it is safe to use the contact lenses. After extended use, the platinum-coated disk must be replaced.
Important to replace cases regularly to avoid contamination and avoid burning or stinging, as the disc will stop neutralizing as it gets worn.
